How satisfied are you with your life? What about your job? Are you working your dream job, or are you stuck in a place of employment that provides you with an income but you dread going to work every day? Many people enter adulthood with high hopes and dreams of pursuing a life filled with joy and passion, doing what they love while earning a living at the same time. However, too often their dreams remained unfulfilled. They keep hoping for better things, but they know their life has been derailed.

The truth is, hoping for a better life, your dream life, will not result in the changes you want. Nothing short of a personal revolution is necessary. This is nothing less than developing a radical mindset accompanied by a radical change in your behavior. The word revolution means “turnaround;”- a fundamental change in power or organizational structures that takes place over a relatively short period of time. In other words, you will need to start your own personal revolution and engage with it daily, if you want to begin living and working from a position of passion, joy and fulfillment.

Life is a sticky business. Perhaps you have made attempts to get your life on track only to find yourself back in the same situation. Maybe you feel like you are caught in a time loop, waking up and re-living the same day over and over again, making the same mistakes, experiencing the same boring, passionless existence.

Remember, God has planned a wonderful life for you: “I know the plans that I have for you…I have good plans for you. I don’t plan to hurt you. I plan to give you a hope and a good future.” Regardless of what you are experiencing now, God has planned a good life for you. The question is, “Are you willing to do what it takes to begin living the life you dream and God planned?” Most people would say, “Yes, I am ready” yet, in a few days, too many would find themselves still stuck.

Every year, many people purchase health club memberships or new exercise equipment they never use. Does this sound familiar? If you are living a passionless unfulfilled life and you feel powerless to move your life forward, it’s time to get your life on track and unstuck. It’s time to stop living in misery and disappointment. Don’t listen to people around you who might be telling you, “Be thankful that you have a job. Many people are unemployed. At least you are working.” Or they might say, “You need to stop dreaming and live in the here and now.” And what about: “No one in our family has ever accomplished anything so grand. Just forget about that stuff and be happy where you are.”

I want to offer a few practical steps to help you start a personal revolution, deal with unresolved issues, eradicate toxic behaviors and begin taking positive steps toward achieving your dream life.
1. Stop listening to people who refuse to see your greatness. Negative advice that challenges your desire to revolutionize your life will kill your dream and stop your momentum. Stop listening to the naysayers. They don’t see what you see.
2. Keep dreaming. When you close your eyes and dream, what is your dream? Does this dream fill you with passion and joy? Would the fulfillment of this dream give you a sense of purpose? If not, keep dreaming until you dream the dream that does.
3. Start a dream journal. What you don’t commit to paper will probably not get done. Writing your dream down in a journal will help you gain greater focus and provide you with inspiration along the journey to fulfillment.
Revolutions are messy, and something always dies in the process. Revolutions are not easy. If you are looking for an easy, quick fix, you are going to be disappointed. The change you seek will take everything you have. It is going to be difficult and the price will be high. If you are willing to deal with the mess, let’s get started. Today is the day your revolution can begin. You don’t need an army, you need a commitment to yourself and your own God-given greatness. Let’s go!
